A piano as heavy as my heart
In my dreams, I set the table
Bring all the fancy things you deserve
Laced towels on marble
Affection, gratitude, all I reserve
That same old window, curtains sheer
the warm light of a country given to us
Dusty carpets, bouncy tail, wooden sphere
Paper bills tell me a story, it cuts
Turning pages, calm in paces
Cornices, roses, way before the bruises
The sound is summer
Don't be a goner
I wish I could carry the piano
Like you carried me
I wish I could play for you
On an empty street
Music was your life
A secret you kept from me
The distance is so big
Would you ever believe?
A few years ago, we almost lost you
But you've never been the same
I search for memories scattered
Ignoring life's maim
Your silence speaks so loud
I hope you know I've only wanted to make you proud
26 years, wishing for much more
You gave me all the best memories
I could ever wish for
