As I sit here, on the eve of my 27th Birthday, I cannot but wonder where's life taking me and where should I be taking my life. So far, it's been a hell of a ride, but the last few years were the drop of the roller coaster. Gravity pulled me down as fast as a blink, and since then I have been cruising at high speed, hoping for the next ascent.

Just last week I came across Dolly Alderton's Everything I Know About Love, and to be fair, I don't honestly gravitate toward this genre, but it was everything I needed. Alderton's 20s were much different from mine, I dare to say, opposites. However, I could relate to every single feeling, life crisis, and contemplation she shared.

Growing older is not something school prepares us for. It is difficult to understand our possibilities and opportunities decrease exponentially when we approach 30. Life is much more lonely than we envisioned, and all the clichés are utterly true. And that hurts. Oh, it hurts.

It doesn't seem long ago when my mom was cursing me with "One day you won't be as slim" or "This amount of grey hair is genetic…
